Brian Galea won the 3rd Trap Selection Shoot, an event that was organised on five qualification rounds of twenty five clay targets each with seventy five targets being shot at on Saturday and the last fifty targets on Sunday.
Galea was joined on the podium by William Chetcuti and by John Marmara who finished in the second and in the third place respectively.
The six Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualification scores were;
William Chetcuti with the score of 115/125 (ISSF MQS), Stephen Vella 110/125, Brian Galea 109/125, John Marmara 108/125, Nicholas Carabott 105/125+1 and Paul Formosa 105/125+0.
The Finals results were
1st Brian Galea 21/25 + 3/5 + 5/5 + 5/5 + 9/10, total score 43/50
2nd William Chetcuti 18/25 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 7/10, total score 38/50
3rd John Marmara 20/25 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 2/5, total score 30/40
4th Nicholas Carabott 19/25 + 3/5 + 4/5, total score 26/35
5th Paul Formosa 16/25 + 4/5, total score 20/30
6th Stephen Vella 15/25, total score 15/25
Two perfect straights of 25/25 hit targets were registered by Nicholas Carabott and by Stephen Vella, with the latter also registering a near perfect score of 24/25 hits, same as William Chetcuti and Brian Galea.
The top three Shooters in their respective classes managed Sunday’s results as follows;
