On Sunday 10th March the Assoċjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi will be making another attempt to continue with the activities of the Autocross Cars by organizing the sixth event of the ASMK Pasta Poiatti National Championship 2018/2019. This Autocross event in February was cancelled due to the weekend storm that had hit the country mainly on that Sunday. The activity of next Sunday 10th March begins at 10:00 am while at the end of this activity the Association will be organizing the first edition of the 'Ladies Demolition Derby' 2019 which is expected to start at around 3:00 p.m.
For this first edition of the Ladies Demolition Derby we will see 10 competitors taking up this challenge after several years supporting their family members or their husbands. On this day we will be seeing the woman who will be replacing the men behind the steering wheel. The Association is doing so for the purpose of calling for more participation of women in sport. Although the Association held several activities devoted to Woman, during the time they were cut for several reasons. However, all female competitors will be competing on cars not bigger than 4 meters (13 feet).
A look at the Autocross rankings ta date we currently see Terence Azzopardi on his Opel Corsa in the Autocross Modified Class is leading with 108 points and is followed by Melo Zammit on the Opel Corsa with 106 points. In third place we find Noel Zammit on a Fiat Punto with 100 points while in fourth place there is Joseph Micallef on another Opel Corsa with 59 points.
In the Modified Class B Autocross Ranking we see Theo Micallef on a Ford Fiesta leading the score with a single point followed by Joseph Spiteri on an Opel Corsa with 19 points. Third place is occupied by Nicolai Aquilina on an Opel Corsa while Brandon Lee Vassallo on his Peugeot 205 is in fourth place with 12 points.
In the Autocross Standard Class Ranking, we see Johann Vella on his Opel Nova leading the pack with 23 Class Points and is followed by Melvin Buttigieg on a Citroen AX with 19 points. Third placed is Jerome Peplow on his Kia Avella along with Nicovich Chircop on his Peugeot 106 both with 17 points each.
