Table Football, Major of Frameries: Charlie Aquilina wins Veteran Category

The Major of Frameries 2019 was organised last weekend in Belgium.

The individual competitions were held on Saturday and nine Maltese players were participating.

In the U15 category we had Thomas Ebejer from Valletta Lions TFC who made it to the quarter final.

Jurgen Balzan of Valletta Subbuteo Club participated in the U19 category and made it to the final but unfortunately, he lost against the Belgian Maxime Rairoux.

In the Veteran Category we had a Maltese winner.  Charlie Aquilina of Bormla Subbuteo Club won the final against the Italian Gianfranco Calonico.  Jason Pisani, John Zammit and Mario Camilleri also participated in this category and all three made it to the last sixteen.

Three Maltese players participated in the Open Category.  Derek Conti made it to the last thirty-two, Massimo Cremona till the last sixteen and unfortunately Josef Camilleri did not make it in the group.

The team's competition was held on Sunday and two Maltese teams participated, Bormla Subbuteo Club and Valletta Subbuteo Club.

Valletta Subbuteo Club was composed of Derek Conti, Mario Camilleri, Jurgen Balzan, the Belgian Pascal Scheen and Melina Scheen and the French Axel Donval. 

Valletta Subbuteo Club were eliminated in the last sixteen.

Bormla Subbuteo Club was composed of Charlie Aquilina, Josef Camilleri, George Ebejer and the Belgian Vincent Guyaux.  Bormla SC made it to the quarter final and the winning team was the Italian 'Reggio Emiglia'
