No doubt that the happiest man yesterday at Ta' Qali was national coach Ray Farrugia. His emotions ran high as he thanked the Maltese people for this success.

In the post-match press conference Ray Farrugia said that the national team did not belong to him but to the Maltese people. He thanked the people especially those who gave their support to the national team yesterday.

He said that we waited for such a long time for victory, and today we should celebrate this deserved victory, but as from tomorrow we must forget this game and concentrate on the difficult task that lay ahead, that of facing Spain on Tuesday.

He said that he was proud with the performance of all the players who gave their hearts out yesterday. Asked about the youngsters in the team, he said that from the first day of his tenure it was his mission to introduce these youngsters which are the future of our national team.

In the end Ray Farrugia again thanked the public and the players for their five-star performance and for the deserved victory obtained after such a long wait.
