Malta took part in an international operation involving 14 countries called 'Operation Webmaster' which has led to a number of arrests, the Malta Police Force has said.
The operation was coordinated by Eurojust and Europol.
Operation Webmaster focused on money originating from organised crime. "After months of surveillance, a foreign man was arrested on the basis of a European Arrest Warrant." In Malta, this operation was coordinated by the Intelligence Unit, the Vice Squad, the Economic Crimes Unit, and the International Relations Unit, assisted by the Special Intervention Unit.
The foreign man will be brought before the courts on the basis of the European Arrest Warrant in the coming days, the police said.
