In a very thrilling Friday night match, Luxol acquired the third consecutive win against Valletta in the Elite Play Offs Final and were declared as Champions.
Six minutes from the start Luxol's captain Mark Zammit opened the score and two minutes later made them 2-0. Nicola Del Re added two more goals, scoring the second one 47 seconds before half time. Valletta's Gia Nikvashvilli scored from a penalty in between Del Re's goals.
In the opening of the second half, Luxol's Celino Alves was denied by the post. In the following seconds, it was Leanderson Sant'Anna Coriolano's turn to find the net and score Luxol's fifth goal.
From now on Valletta put everything forward and managed to reduce the gap to 5-4, from Shawn Vella's brace and another goal by Nikvashvili.
With this close result both teams had a player sent off for receiving the second yellow card. First it was Nikvashvili and was followed later by Maicon Silva for Luxol.
Finally Luxol closed the chapter through Del Re's third goal and a goal apiece for Leanderson and Emil Andrei Raducu; the latter fifty seconds from the final whistle. Thirty seconds from the end Shawn Vella has also been sent off for receiving the second yellow card.
After the end of the match Luxol's celebration reached the climax as captain Mark Zammit received and raised the cup.
