Stephen Vella was the overall winner of The Aquilina Shield Trap event organized by The Malta Shooting Sport Federation at Bidnija. This event was on 50 clays trap with the top six to qualify for the final stages. Stephen Vella had to go for a shoot off with Nicky Carabott after the qualification rounds to determine their positions in the finals. Stephen managed 6 clays to take bib number one  while Nicky managed 5 to take bib number two.

Stephen Vella placed 1st with 43/50 +6 - 21-26-29-31-39, Nicky Carabott placed 2nd with 43/50+5 - 18-22-26-30-38, Charlie Muscat placed 3rd with 42/50 - 18-21-25-26, Frank Scorfna placed 4th with 40/50 - 19-22-25, Paul Formosa placed 5th with 41/50 - 16-20, Nazzareno Attard placed 6th with 37/50 - 14.
