Minister Konrad Mizzi has written that he remembers the first Air Malta flight in 1974, but the thing is that he was born three years later.

In the Air Malta magazine Bizzilla, Mizzi writes that he remembers the time when Air Malta started its operations to seven destinations.

But Mizzi was born long after the launch of the national carrier, on 4 November 1977, and therefore could not be in a position to remember.

The discrepancy was highlighted by Nationalist candidate for the EP election Peter Agius.
