Jeremy Saywell won the silver medal in the -66kg category after losing against Jusuf Nurkovic of Montenegro in the gold medal match. Nurkovic won the gold with an Ippon with two minutes to go.

For Jeremy Saywell this was the third silver in the Small Nations Games.

Saywell made his way to the final with two Ippon wins against Joel Rossel Fort of Luxembourg and against Andrea Fritsch of Luxembourg after barely 17 seconds.

Isaac Bezzina made his way to the semifinal beating Franck Voton of Monaco with an Ippon. In the semifinal he suffered an Ipon defeat against Danilo Pantic of Montenegro.

In the -81kg Clive Camilleri lost the bronze medal against Arni Peter Lund. He was previously beaten by Thierry Jean-Tizie with an Ippon after just ten seconds.

Luca Montebllo and Francesco Aufieri lost their bouts and were eliminated in the first round. Montebello lost against Anto Dubrata of Montenegro with an Ippon and in the repechage he was also beaten by Davidson from Iceland.

Aufieri lost with an Ippon against Nicolas Grinda from Monaco and against Barboni in repechage.

The two girls in the -52kg suffered four defeats in their first experience in the GSSE. Lara Castillo was defeated by Montenegro’s Yamina-Sara Allag in the first round and by Luxembourg’s Telma Martins in the repechage.

Same fate for Kataryna Esposito who first lost against Alda Babi Choopojcharoen of Andorra and the in the repechage against Monaco’s Lisa Stephane Mebarki.
