Eleonor Bezzina gave Malta the third gold of the 2019 Small Nations Games in Montenegro winning the 10m competition. Eleonor went one better than two years ago when she had to settle for silver.
She finished the first phase in second place with a total of 559 points, one less than Charalambous of Cyprus, and four more from Schmit of Luxembourg. Saranovic and Pantovic of Montenegro also qualified for the final phase and finished on the podium behind bezzina.
In the final round of shots Bezzina scored 19.8, 19.6 and 18.7. Jelena Pantovic was in front before the final round but she scored 17.9 against Bezzina’s 20.4 to claim gold with a total of 231.8 against the 230.7 of Jelena Pantovic.
