Maltese Kickboxer and K1 fighter, Diane Schembri just returned back to Malta after representing our country in Bedzin, Poland in the knockout tournament 'Girl Power 8'.
After the drawing of odds, Schembri encountered Ukrainian fighter Olga Gavrish. The Maltese athlete showed dominance from the very start as she combined a variety of precise and effective punches and kicks. Eventually, Diane Schembri won the fight with a clean knockout during the first minute of the first round.
This victory ensured Schembri's place in the semi-finals against the professional Italian fighter, Vittoria Di Mauro. Again, Diane Schembri showed great strength and endurance against such a tough professional fighter. The judges gave the win to Di Mauro who eventually went on to win the prestigious title belt 'WKN Championship Girl Power' and was crowned champion of the tournament.
Later on this week, Professional fighter Keith 'Speed' Azzopardi will be competing for another Title Belt in Nice, France.
