Two Romanian dockyard men were grievously injured on Thursday at the dockyard in Cospicia in an accident involving a fork lifter.

The accident took place in Triq Ghajn Dwieli at around 9.30am, the police said.

A 48-year-old man was driving the fork lifter inside the dock when he hit another man. Both men and the fork lifter ended up in the sea, the police said.

The men were brought to shore by their colleagues. They were then taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating the case.
