The Msida Arrows Badminton Club recently travelled to Palermo in order to take part in the fourth edition of the "Trofeo Internazionale delle Isole". 

The event comprised separate Team and Individual tournaments.

Each match in the team tournament consisted of Men's and Women's Singles, Men's and Women's Doubles as well Mixed Doubles. The event featured two teams made up of the better male and female players in Sicily.

Msida Arrows defeated both squads so as to win the team tournament unbeaten, thereby successfully defending the title it won in the preceding edition of the same event.

The players forming the Msida Arrows squad were:

-- Alida Borg;

-- Elenia Haber;

-- Christabel Cachia;

-- Keith Mifsud;

-- Edward Haber;

-- Magnus Hoffman.

The Individual event featured separate Men’s and Women's Singles competitions.

Elenia Haber convincingly won her Women’s Singles category while Magnus Hoffman made it to the final of the Men’s Singles category, which he “only” lost over three hard-fought sets.

The Club expressed its considerable satisfaction at this excellent overall result as well as at the performance of its players, who showed a consistently high standard throughout the overall event. 

It also confirmed its continued commitment to the further development of all its players by providing them with similar future opportunities to hone their skills against foreign opposition.
