Shooting: James Galea wins the MSSF Trap Competition

James Galea was the overall winner of the Trap Competition that was organized at the Bidnija Shooting Ranges.

Galea was joined on the podium by Noel Attard and by John Marmara who finished in the second place and in the third place respectively.

After the qualification rounds, the six Finalists in the Bib number order were;

James Galea with the score of 43/50, Frank Scorfna hit 42/50 Jason Magri scored 40/50+1, Noel Attard 40/50+0, John Marmara 39/50 and George Cassar 38/50.

The Finals results were;

1st James Galea 18/25 + 3/5 + 5/5 + 5/5 + 9/10, total score 40/50

2nd Noel Attard 22/25 + 3/5 + 2/5 + 1/5 + 8/10, total score 36/50

3rd John Marmara 18/25 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 2/5, total score 28/40

4th George Cassar 18/25 + 5/5 + 2/5, total score 25/35

5th Frank Scorfna 17/25 + 2/5, total score 19/30

6th Jason Magri 16/25, total score 16/25

 

The top Shooters in their respective classes concluded their qualification rounds with the following scores;

Class A

1st James Galea 43/50

2nd John Marmara 39/50

3rd Mario Buhagiar 31/50

 

Class B

1st Frank Scorfna 42/50

2nd Jason Magri 40/50

3rd George Cassar 38/50

 

Class C

1st Noel Attard 40/50

2nd Michael Galea 39/50

3rd Charles Muscat 37/50

 

In the meantime, the Maltese Shotgun Team consisting of thirteen Athletes and five Coaches and Officials are in preparation for the ISSF World Championship in Lonato, ITA, with the Trap Team already in Italy while the Skeet and Double Trap Athletes will be following shortly.
