Wednesday, 3 July 2019, 21:23 Last update: about 8 years ago

Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp have been hit by a glitch, leaving many users unable to upload photos and videos.

Facebook, which owns all three services, said it is aware of the issue and is "working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible".

Billions of users worldwide use the social networking and messaging apps.

Twitter, which is unrelated to Facebook, is also experiencing technical issues, with users not being able to send direct messages or receive notifications.

The company tweeted: "We're currently having some issues with DM delivery and notifications. We're working on a fix and will follow up as soon as we have an update for you."
