A 20-year-old Indian man stunned his grieving friends and family members when he woke up at his own funeral, Indian media report. 

The man was admitted to a private hospital on 21 June after he was knocked unconscious in a serious accident. The patient was declared dead a few days later and his body was returned home to his family members for burial. 

The burial was being prepared when some relatives spotted movement of the limbs, the Hindustan Times reports. He was returned to the hospital where he was put on ventilator support.

He remains in critical condition.
