Earlier today at the racetrack of Ploiesti in Romania we had the 2nd leg of the Mediterranean Horse Racing Championship which was won by Maltese Driver Clint Vassallo. Not having one of the most favoured horses to win, the horse lost a shoe in the warm up so it was decided he would go barefoot whilst Clint Vassallo also shortened his check considerably to balanace his gait. Sitting in 3rd position right from the start, Clint Vassallo started his sprint with 500m to go taking victory with horse No 6 Zanderigo.

This was the first time that Romania hosted a leg of the Mediterranean Horse Racing Championship and it was also the first international victory for Clint Vassallo

Having won the first two legs of this championship Malta is currently in first place of the classification with the third leg scheduled for 11th August at the racetrack of Ufa in Russia
