Stephen Vella claimed the Franz Ciantar Cup, a Trap Mini Grand Prix that was organised on three qualification rounds plus the Final Stages at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.
Vella was joined on the podium by Nicholas Carabott who finished in the second place overall and by Christopher Farrugia who finished in third place.
After the qualification rounds, the six Finalists in the Bib number order were;
Jason Vella took Bib number 1 with the score of 64/75, Noel Attard, Nicholas Carabott, Stephen Vella and Christopher Farrugia had to go through a four-way shoot-off to decide their positions in the Finals, this finished with the score of 61/75+3, 61/75+2+1, 61/75+2+0 and 61/75+0 respectively. Another shoot-off between the eldest shooter and the youngest one of the competition saw the experience of George Cassar prevail on that of Junior female shooter Mariah Busuttil as it finished with the score of 59/75+2 to 59/75+1 with Cassar going through to the Final Stages and Busuttil being eliminated.

1st Stephen Vella 20/25 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 8/10, total score 41/50
2nd Nicholas Carabott 18/25 + 3/5 + 3/5 + 5/5 + 9/10, total score 38/50
3rd Christopher Farrugia 18/25 + 4/5 + 2/5 + 4/5, total score 28/40
4th Jason Vella 16/25 + 3/5 + 4/5, total score 23/35
5th Noel Attard 16/25 + 3/5, total score 19/30
6th George Cassar 15/25, total score 15/25
