On 28 June, Nissan Motor Sales Ltd in Malta welcomed a new member to the Nissan family, the 100% electric eNV200 commercial van. The memorable evening was joined by guests of honour Prime Minister Joseph Muscat as well as Transport Minister Ian Borg.

Nissan has been and is at the forefront of the electric vehicle market. Having launched the Leaf over ten years ago, it has sold over 400,000 Nissan Leaf putting the brand in the pole position of this market. The eNV200 is a commercial vehicle that draws on Nissan's advanced electric vehicle experience and technology. With its 750kg payload capacity, eNV200 has enough space for two-euro pallets. One cannot forget to mention the vehicles new 40KWH battery which is covered by an eight year warranty (or 160,000 km - whichever comes first) and can achieve a WLTP range of 200km.

Managing Director of Nissan Motor Sales Ltd, Ian Mizzi highlighted that "Thanks to the present government's incentives, customers purchasing this vehicle, will benefit from a EUR 7,000 when buying a Nissan E-NV200, will not pay registration fees and will pay no license fees for the first five years.

"Furthermore, can also take advantage of additional benefits through the Micro invest scheme resulting in the net price of the E-NV200 being that of EUR 13,600. When one analysis all these benefits, the 8 years warranty on the battery, 70% less energy costs when compared to an ICE equivalent, much lower maintenance cost - around 50% less - and a staggering 200km range, it is evident that the ENV200 is the ideal small van for Malta."
