Recently a group of Maltese BMX riders took part in another Ghetto Games held in Latvia. They rode in the pro category, and it was the first time for all of them to ride in such a category as Mathias Mangion, Nicky Schranz and Karl Naja rode before in the Amateur competitions. This was the first time that Nicky Schranz and Miguel Triganza competed abroad, Mathias Mangion second time and Naja for the fourth time.

This competition was taken place in Ventspils, Latvia. It was a great opportunity thanks to the Erasmus sport + project that Malta BMX is doing with the Ghetto Games. The project is called Medicine for Europe's Ghettos. Malta partnered up with countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Latvia, and Estonia to create a tool kit which will be published around europe to Help and Teach people how to attract kids to a healthy lifestyle and physical activity through street sports. Sports Such as BMX, Skateboarding, 3v3 Basket Ball, Street football and more street related sports.

This Festival is a street sports festival and brings top athletes from around the world to compete in Latvia to showcase these sports and to encourage kids to become like the athletes they are seeing.
