A Brazilian man has been arrested after spending money collected for treatment of his son on drugs and prostitutes, international media report.

A crowd-funding exercise raised €12,000 which were to go for the treatment of the man’s 19-month old son who suffers from a rare condition.

But the man made off with the cash, spending it on drugs and prostitutes before he was caught a month later and arrested.

In a plea on the social media, the man’s wife apologised for h the man’s wrongdoing and said that the crowd-funding exercise was being suspended.
