Maltese athlete Andrew Grech has won the silver medal in the half marathon race in China. There were 2000 runners. 

Andrew Grech, a policeman, was competing in the Police Olympics which this year are being organized in Chengdu, capital of Scicluna Province. These Olympics for policeman and firemen and are held every two years.

They were first organized in the United state in 1985. 

This time the host country is China

The participation of Mr. Grech in these Olympics was made possible through the efforts of former Minister and the current president of the Malta China Friendship society. In early April he was invited by the Friendship Association of Sichuan to visit the province. When he discovered that this year's Olympics will be held in Chengdu the capital city of Scichuan, he requested the organizing committee to accept a policeman from Malta. His request was accepted.
