The Nationalist Party is set to hold this year's Independence Day activities outside its headquarters in Pieta, sources told The Malta Independent.
The PN has traditionally held activities in the week leading to 21 September at the Granaries in Floriana, but it is likely that this year they will be transferred to a more contained location in the streets surrounding the headquarters.
A final decision is expected to be taken by the party's executive committee.
The PN has had a tough few months following the defeat in the MEP and local elections in May, which led to a call for a vote of confidence in leader Adrian Delia as the party appeared to be split on the way forward. Two-thirds of the councillors voted to stick with Delia.
It will not be the first time, however, that the party moves away from the Granaries. A few years ago, activities were held in Freedom Square in Valletta.
