Malta's junior waterpolo team finished in twelfth place yesterday in Tbilisi Georgia after suffering a 16-9 defeat against the Netherlands.

In yesterday's final for eleventh and twelfth place, the Netherlands had a powerful start building a four-goal lead by the end of the first quarter, with the locals unable to recover.

Jake Muscat and Jake Bonavia scored fours each, with two of Muscat's goals from a penalty action. The other goal for Malta was obtained by Gianni Farrugia.

The win against Turkey in the second day proved to be fundamental for the Maltese boys who undoubtedly had a positive experience in Georgia.

The tournament continues on Saturday with the two semi-finals for the top places with Spain taking on Hungary and Italy facing Greece.
