The 5th Sports & Exercise Medicine Summer Course will be hosted in Malta between the 26th and 30th August and will bring to Malta some of the most respected experts in the field of Sports and Exercise Medicine.

Speakers who hail from the United States of America, The Netherlands, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Italy and Malta will be sharing insights and some of the latest sports medicine concepts in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries due to athletic activity as well as how to use sports science to improve performance.

The five-day course, which is being hosted by the Maltese Olympic Committee in collaboration with Olympic Solidarity, the Italian Society of Muscles, Ligaments & Tendons and the World Society of Sports and Exercise Medicine will see participants attend lectures in the morning, whilst hands-on workshops will take place in the afternoon.

"It is a great milestone for Malta to be hosting speakers of such caliber - it is not every day that one has the opportunity to listen to experts from the Mayo Clinic, Aspetar and professionals from football teams such as Liverpool FC and Wales FC and Olympic Teams such as Team GB" - explained Dr. Kirill Micallef Stafrace, Maltese Olympic Committee director and course organiser. "The course will also feature a number of Maltese doctors who are leaders in their fields and are not limited to just sports medicine and exercise science. We have also included a number of topics that are of interest to those involved in sport but not necessarily in medicine."

Very limited places are left for those interested in attending. A detailed programme of events including topics and speakers' biographies can be found on www.sehem.eu.

The 5th Sports and Exercise Medicine Summer course is supported by Olympic Solidarity, the  Ministry of Health, the Malta Tourism Authority, Sports Malta, Planet Physio and emvigee pr & marketing.
