Following a futsal season; were a double achievement was won; Luxol St Andrews Futsal will try and relive its 2017 dream and accomplishments. Luxol will compete again in the upcoming preliminary round group F of UEFA Futsal Champions League from 26th August to 1st September 2019 in Tromso, Norway.

Luxol is led under the relentless direction and experience of Chairman Mr. Joseph Aquilina shadowed by President Mario Vella who have worked extremely hard in bolstering key and specific players to solidify an already well-rounded team. This is also possible thanks to their personal sacrifices and the securing of sponsors namely Holland & Barrett, Vella Bros (Bidnija) Ltd, Paradise Bay Resort, Dove Men + Care, Naxxar Motors, Shaggy's Pub & Save Wise Supermarket, that Luxol can commit to participating in such competition.

Technical Director Nathaniel Jones and Club Secretary/Vice President Jose da Silva contribute and support further Head Coach Gabriel Dobre and Assistant Coach Clint Cope in trying to achieve the executive's goal and dream to take this Maltese futsal team to the main round and beyond.

The club welcomes Kenneth Rakvaag, a team member that was a key element and instrumental to the club's success in 2017. Goalkeeper Rakvaag is the captain of a Norwegian national team and nick named 'yellow hulk' by his Maltese comrades. Another member that is not new to the local scene, is the Slovenian International Dejan Bizjak. He returns to Luxol after playing for the past two years in the Italian Seria A league Calcio A5 with Lazio. His experience at an international level along with the familiarity with the Maltese players will only strengthen the squad.

We have also added Everton Da Silva Santos a Brazilian (Veve) international who has made a name for himself in Malta, together with two new comers to futsal that has managed to turn heads and impress us all with their technical abilities in Malta are Kemmu Degran Jackson a Jamaican international and Dragan Obradovic Serbian international.

Our support team Physio Jean Paul Bianco, Doctor Adrian Callus, Kit Manager Neil Mifsud and Noel Briffa, Team Nurse Charles Zahra have also been joined by Physical trainer David Spiteri, who simultaneously to ensure the best well being and care is given to each player.

The team of players that have brought us joy as they achieved maximum credentials in the past season. This was possible under the spirited and combative guidance of Captain Mark Zammit, who has led this team through each training session and competitive match with determination but respect for its opponents. The committee is exceptionally grateful and thankful to the players who have been and are still with us (list attached). The Club is extremely proud of its players that have not only worked tremendously throughout the previous season, but together will embrace and take on this new challenge ahead with great ambition and determination. Keeping a clear goal in mind, they will as a team leave no stone unturned.

This is only possible thanks to all our supporters who have generously contributed in supporting us once again, wife's, partners, children and families who have all had to sacrificed their time and are constantly behind us through thick and thin. These are the back bone of our success. The strength of this club is also possible, due to a good relationship with its mother club and the silent guardians Paul and Jason Falzon, who not only support the futsal team but strongly believe in the benefits of futsal and encourage the promotion of the discipline within the Luxol nursery.

Luxol's futsal team will travel to Norway not only to represent the Club, but to carry high the Island's name.

The team will first debut in Norway on Wednesday 28th August against the likes of top league champions Fiorentino from San Marino, followed by pot section favourites on Thursday 29th Dinamo Chisinau from Moldovia. The team will finish off its games against Country Hosts Sjarmtrollan from Norway on Saturday the 31st.
