National coach Ray Farrugia surprised the press yesterday when he said that he was very disappointed after the match against Romania, but not with the performance but with the result, stating that for Malta's showing we deserved a point from this match.

Farrugia reaffirmed that a defeat is always a defeat, but on yesterday's performance he cannot stop thanking their players for such a showing. He said that after a year at the helm, the results are starting to show, but we have to continue working on this project.

Farrugia insisted that results will not come overnight, but assured the Malta sporting that these will come if we continue to work on this. He said that it was a great satisfaction to see the Romanian supporters cheering the Maltese squad at the end of the game, and he thanked these supporters for showing their gratitude.
