A 74-year-old man from Gharghur was stabbed on Wednesday evening.

The incident took place at 5.45pm in Sqaq il-Warda, the police said.

The man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance. His injuries were classified as grievous.

A 58-year-old man is helping the police in the investigation.
