A fire was reported in a store in Iklin, the police said. No one was hurt.

Fire engines have rushed to the area to control the blaze. The fire was reported at around 2.15pm but was quickly put out.

Wooden boxes and crates which were outside the store - which belongs to Darmanin Shoes in Trq ic-Citru - caught fire. Some damage was also caused to the building nearby.

An investigation will aim to establish the cause.

"It happened very quickly," an eyewitness said. "It grew so quickly since it was very windy at the time."
