ASMK Autocross new season opens next Sunday 10th November

On Sunday 10th November 2019 Assoċjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi opens the Autocross National 2019/2020 Championship sponsored by ASMK - Pasta Poiatti. The event to be held at Ta’ Qali ASMK Sports Complex starts at 11:00 am. 

The Autocross track is well underway to welcome the first Autocross event of the new championship. This will be carried on in the coming days so the race course will enable races to be held in a clockwise and an anti-clockwise direction. 

Another ongoing project is the erection of a new Control Room which is to replace the earlier room after 34 years of service. This project had to be done following a small fire incident in this same building that occurred this summer. 

The 2019/2020 Trials National Championship was launched on Sunday 13th October 2019. This first event was held at Tal-Ballut Quarry of Naxxar and these are the results. In Class A Damon Bonello on a TRS Trials motorcycle won this first event ahead of Rowen Bonello on a Beta. Third placed rider is Ian Scicluna on Beta. Meanwhile, the Association takes the opportunity to thank Ballut Blocks Ltd for allow us to organize these events in their Property.

Another Trials competition is to take place on Sunday 17 November 2019. The place will be announced later, with the event starting at 9.00am. Photographers are welcome to attend. 

Meanwhile on Sunday 20th October ASMK opened the Honda Motocross 2019/2020  National Championship. This pre-championship event was a Fun Race and had these results. In Class A Kyle Camilleri won 1st place on his KTM motorcycle followed by Bernard Sammut on Beta. Third placed rider is young Mark Mamo riding a Yamaha motorcycle. 

In Class B Ryan Faenza on Yamaha dominated this class and he was followed by young Michael Sant riding a Husqvarna motorcycle. Third place was won by James Mamo on a Yamaha motorcycle. 

The junior class championship is being held for the first time in this season. This championship is dedicated for children who are practicing this kind of sport. This was made possible following intensive training by both foreign and Maltese coaches of the Association. Meanwhile this first event was won by Jose Azzopardi on a KTM motorcycle followed by Sheldon Camilleri Conti on a Yamaha motorcycle. Third place was won by Nicole Cutajar on a Husqvarna motorcycle. 

Other Motocross event which will be the first event of the 2019/2020 National Championship will be held on Sunday 1st December 2019 at the ASMK Complex in Ta' Qali and starts at 10: 00am
