The national Aquatic Sports Association (ASA) days ago announced the much coveted 'Player of the Year Awards' and to no surprise out a maximum four awards the Sliema Water Polo Academy won the Under 15s 'Best Player Award' which was awarded to Nico Schiavone and the Under 13s which was awarded to Jayden Cutajar. 

This comes as no accident since the Sliema Water Polo Academy won the double this year for both age groups- winter and summer leagues for both the Under 15s and Under 13s. The latter was not played in a competitive structure but the team only lost 1 game all summer.  The success comes after Sliema Water Polo Academy prepared the players in the best possible way. The Academy's water polo players train 6 days per week and competed in foreign tournaments during pre-season thanks to Academy director John Attard and coaches Sergio Afric, Beppe Dato and Dejan Simeonov and their helpers.
