Shooting: Silvio Attard wins the MSSF Trap Competition (50)

Silvio Attard was the overall winner of the MSSF Trap Competition (50) that was organised at the Malta National Shooting Ranges in Ta' Kandja, Siggiewi.

After an absence of more than three years from the game, it did not take long for Attard to find his form in the Trap discipline as this was only his second competition this season.

He was joined on the podium by James Galea (Jr.) and by Nicholas Carabott who finished second and third place respectively.

Following the qualification rounds, the six Finalists in the Bib number order were;

John Marmara with the score of 44/50, Nicholas Carabott scored 43/50 + 3 shoot-off, Charles Grech hit 43/50 + 2 shoot-off, James Galea (Jr.) 42/50 + 1 shoot-off, Silvio Attard 42/50 + 0 shoot-off and Philip Mifsud 41/50.

The Finals results were;

1st Silvio Attard 19/25 + 4/5 + 3/5 + 4/5 + 9/10, total score 39/50

2nd James Galea (Jr.) 16/25 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 7/10, total score 37/50

3rd Nicholas Carabott 17/25 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 4/5, total score 29/40

4th Charles Grech 16/25 + 3/5 + 4/5, total score 23/35

5th John Marmara 17/25 + 1/5, total score 18/30

6th Philip Mifsud 16/25, total score 16/25

The top three Shooters in their respective classes concluded their qualification rounds with the following scores;

Class A

1st John Marmara 44/50

2nd Nicholas Carabott 43/50

3rd James Galea (Jr.) 42/50

Class B

1st Charles Grech 43/50

2nd Nazzareno Attard 39/50 (Countback Rule)

3rd Raymond Micallef 39/50

Class C

1st Silvio Attard 42/50

2nd Philip Mifsud 41/50

3rd Silvio Cassar 38/50

 

The MSSF Trap programme continues on the 24 November 2019 at the Southern Shooting Club with the Cup Winners' Cup, where the first three qualified athletes in their respective classes will get points to be carried forward for the eventual qualification in the National Team 2020 - 2021.
