No other details were made available.

On Monday, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said that a presidential pardon has been given to Melvin Theuma on condition that he reveals information related to the murder.

Yorgen Fenech, the 'person of interest' arrested last week, remains under arrest, having been released and re-arrested three times. This third 48-hour window during which the police have to arraign him - or set him free, or release him on police bail - expires this afternoon. Fenech has also requested immunity, which is being considered.

Net News reported on Tuesday that OPM chief of staff Keith Schembri had a long meeting with Prime Minister Muscat at the latter's Burmarrad residence on Monday-Tuesday night.

Mizzi on Monday denied any wrongdoing and dismissed calls for his resignation. Schembri did not give comments to the media.
