Updated: Yorgen Fenech gets police bail for the third time

17 Black owner Yorgen Fenech this afternoon was given police bail for the third time, an hour before the 48-hour period during which a police had to make a decision expired.

Fenech was rearrested on Sunday at 5.30pm, and the police had until today at 5.30pm to decide whether to arraign him, set him free or release him on police bail.

The decision was taken to give him police bail as the police further their investigations.

Fenech was arrested on Wednesday morning, released on police bail on Thursday at 9pm. The following morning, on Friday, he accompanied police officers for a search on his yacht before being arrested again, a second time.

On Saturday, he was taken to hospital after complaining of medical issues and the police said that he was given police bail. He was re-arrested on Sunday afternoon after being given the all-clear from hospital.

The third police bail was granted this afternoon.

The police have a total of three months during which they have to make a final decision.

In a statement, the police said that as investigations continue, Fenech was again given police bail according to law.

He will be kept under strict police surveillance.
