Watch: ‘I will only comment when investigations are over, hopefully in the next few hours’ – Muscat

Thursday, 28 November 2019, 10:08 Last update: about 5 years ago

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said he will only comment once the investigations are over, hopefully in the next few hours.

That was all he said when he was approached by journalists this morning as he walked to his office in Castille.

Calls for Muscat’s resignation continue as his former chief of staff Keith Schembri was interrogated by the police in connection with the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Schembri is again being interrogated at the police headquarters. He is still a person of interest and is helping the police in their investigation.

Police are cross checking claims made by 17 Black owner Yorgen Fenech and Schembri during the course of their investigations.

TVM is reporting that Fenech told investigators that he and Schembri had met in a farmhouse in Gozo to plan Fenech's escape from Malta to Tunisia, from where he would have travelled to Dubai.
