Leader of the Opposition Adrian Delia has once again called for the resignation of Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

"The situation is unacceptable; and this situation is all caused by our Prime Minister Joseph Muscat who is the reason behind the instability in our country," said Delia.

Speaking on Friday morning on Net TV, Delia explained that the current situation has brought about chaos, confusion and tension.

"Our country is being mentioned in the international media for all the wrong reasons (...) the Times of London called our island 'an island of corruption'. Our reputation, which we suffered to build, is being destroyed into nothing in a short period of time." He said that Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne has said that the damage to the island's reputation will soon be irreparable.

He said that the situation is only getting worse, since this morning's news broke that three ministers - Finance Minister Edward Scicluna, 'self-suspended' minister Chris Cardona and former Tourism minister Konrad Mizzi - will be facing a magisterial inquiry over their involvement in the hospital privatisation deal after a criminal court rejected their appeal.

"The magisterial inquiry will look into the privatisation of the hospitals and look into all those people who were involved." He said that once more the Nationalist Party is calling for all the private hospitals to return to the Maltese and Gozitan population. Delia said that the population is worried with good reason.

"The institutions in our country are under attack. They have been hijacked by a government embroiled in a web of criminality. The Maltese people are not corrupt; our society is not corrupt, it is the government that is abusing of power through institutions. We are the Opposition and we want to restore the rule of law. We will defend the interests of our people and our country." He said that the situation is currently affecting our economy and the situation is not acceptable.
