Tuesday, 3 December 2019, 18:05 Last update: about 5 years ago

Protesters laid out a banner outside the Police Headquarters this evening, telling the Police Commissioner to arrest OPM Chief of Staff Keith Schembri.

There was a heavy police presence outside the police headquarters in Floriana, due to tonight's protest by civil society activists.

Protesters had till tonight mainly limited their protests to areas in Valletta, mainly Castille and Parliament, however on Tuesday moved their daily event to the police HQ. While the past days saw large crowds, Tuesday's demonstration saw fewer people.

In tonight's protest, the demonstrators chanted "Commissioner do your job, arrest Keith Schembri." The protesters also chanted "justice", and called on the Commissioner to interrogate outgoing Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.

Just yesterday, PL Cabinet ministers and MPs found it difficult to leave Parliament, as despite Freedom Square being packed with barricades, the protesters still managed to block off exits.
