A man of Greek nationality was arrested by the police as he went to collect a package in which drugs were found, the police said.

The 29-year-old, resident in Mosta, went to pick up the package which arrived by controlled delivery service.

As soon as he retrieved the package, which had arrived from Spain, the man was arrested. The package was opened and the police found one kilo of cannabis.

Magistrate Marseann Farrugia is leading an inquiry.
