William Ahlberg (Hibernians) and Samantha Brincat, also playing for Hibernians are the BOV Basketball Players of the Month for October 2019. Ahlberg potted 49 points, averaging 83% from the free-throw line. Samantha Brincat, who recently received the award for BOV Player of the Year for 2018/2019 had a very positive month with 82 points including 17 treys and a 93% from the free-throw line.
Nathan Xuereb (Gzira Athleta) won the BOV monthly award for the BOV 1st Division. The youngster who was recently crowned BOV Player of the Year in the U19 category for last season is proving to be a revelation this year, was a pivotal point in Athleta lifting the MBA shield, and obtained 71 points during November.
Michela Zammit Cordina (Starlites) won the award for the Women's League ended the month on 48 points including 5 treys and a 44% from the field.
Mellieha's Nenad Stojanovski received the November award for the BOV Amateur League, obtaining just one point shy of the 100 mark, with 44 baskets, 3 treys and 2 free-shots.
Peter Perotti, Chief Officer at Bank of Valletta presented a commemorative plaque to the players. Bank of Valletta is a main sponsor of sporting activities in Malta and has enjoyed a long-term collaboration with the Malta Basketball Association than can be trace back to the 1970s.
