James Galea (Jr.) wins the first 1st Trap Selection Shoot

James Galea (Jr.) won the 1st Trap Selection Shoot of the season, an event that was organised on two days at the Malta National Shooting Ranges.

Galea was joined on the podium by William Chetcuti and by Brian Galea who finished in the second and in the third place respectively.

The six Finalists in the Bib number order according to their qualification scores were:

William Chetcuti with the score of 112/125 (ISSF MQS), James Galea (Jr.) 111/125, Nico Sciberras 108/125, Brian Galea 106/125, John Marmara 105/125 and Rudolph Zammit who eliminating Alan Abela with the score of 103/125 + 1 shoot-off to 103/125 + 0 shoot-off.

 

The Finals results were;

1st James Galea (Jr.) 19/25 + 5/5 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 9/10, total score 42/50

2nd William Chetcuti 22/25 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 7/10, total score 41/50

3rd Brian Galea 21/25 + 3/5 + 4/5 + 4/5, total score 32/40

4th Nico Sciberras 20/25 + 4/5 + 3/5, total score 27/35

5th Rudolph Zammit 17/25 + 4/5, total score 21/30

6th John Marmara 16/25, total score 16/25

Two perfect straights of 25/25 hit targets were registered by Alan Abela on Day 1 of the completion and by Rudolph Zammit on Day 2.

The top three Shooters in their respective classes managed Sunday's results as follows;

 

Class A

1st William Chetcuti 47/50

2nd James Galea (Jr.) 46/50

3rd Nico Sciberras 44/50

 

Class B

1st Charles Muscat 44/50

2nd Rudolph Zammit 43/50

3rd Brian Zammit 42/50

 

Class C

1st Peter Muscat 41/50 (Countback Rule)

2nd Paul Gatt 41/50

3rd Paul Camilleri 38/50

 

The MSSF Trap Programme continues on Sunday 19 January 2020 at 10:00 at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club with the second Trap Tournament Shoot, sponsored by Grazio Vella & Bros.
