Neville Gafà, the controversial Office of the Prime Minister official has handed in his resignation, sources have said.
Prime Minister Robert Abela appears to have not been pleased that Gafà attended his swearing-in ceremony yesterday.
Gafà was at the centre of controversy over the visas scandal, and is also a very close friend of the former Prime Minister's chief of Staff Keith Schembri.
Gafa supported Abela during the campaign, and was among the first to speak of "continuity" when it became clear that Abela was on his way to victory.
But it is apparent that Gafa will not be part of this "continuity".
