Angelito Sciberras has resigned from the post of director of the Nationalist Party’s electoral commission, known as Elcom, The Malta Independent has learnt.

Sources said that other Elcom officials quit, apart from Sciberras.

Delia received his letter of resignation after the PN executive committee appointed Francis Zammit Dimech as interim secretary general.

Sciberras has occupied various posts within the PN structures. He was appointed director of Elcom in October 2017, soon after Delia was elected leader.

Elcom is the PN electoral office responsible for the planning, coordination and supervision of the electoral process during the various national elections that take place in Malta.

This newsroom has been trying to reach Sciberras for a comment, to no avail.

Sciberras' resignation comes after three resignations last week - those of deputy leader Robert Arrigo, secretary general Clyde Puli and the president of the general council, Kristy Debono.
