In a message from Brussels, MEP candidate Peter Agius explains that thousands of migrants are presently at the border with Greece and Bulgaria after declarations by Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan that Turkey is no longer keeping refugees from entering Europe.

Agius says that Erdogan’s blackmail is intolerable and that Malta needs to stand strong and be militant to support Greece and other border countries for a European Union stand to strengthen its external borders.

This is after all in Malta’s interest to insist on a strong EU policy protecting the Union’s periphery.
