Friday, 3 April 2020, 09:25 Last update: about 5 years ago

With an overload of information coming from a multitude of sources, the frequency of which is increasing as the COVID-19 situation persists, the UM's Marketing, Alumni and Communications Office has been keeping the university and the Maltese community at large, well-informed thanks to a dedicated COVID-19 webpage

The webpage, which originally started as an online space to host a series of informative videos, prepared by the Marketing, Communications & Alumni team, about how to prevent the spreading of the virus, is now updated daily with the number of cases being reported by the Superintendent of Public Health, as well as measures being announced by Government entities.

For the student community in particular, all latest developments, including the latest decisions taken by Senate on how Matsec exams will be held are also listed.

In just five weeks, this webpage garnered more than 35,000 unique views, showing that the community are seeking timely and accurate information on the COVID-19 situation unfolding around them.

"Accurate and timely information is reassuring always, but even more so during such times. The Newspoint team has been following the situation closely and keeping our various stakeholders informed,", said Pierre Cassar, Director of the UM's Marketing, Communications and Alumni Office.
