More than 50% of Maltese who develop voice problems, do so because they don't use their voice properly or care for it. World Voice Day is celebrated on 16 April and the Association of Speech-Language Pathologists (ASLP) annually organises an event to mark this day. This year's celebration is different to previous ones. ASLP will go online to hold a panel discussion between Speech-Language Pathologist Norma Camilleri, Vocal Instructor Pamela Bezzina and ENT specialist Kenneth Muscat.
They will discuss the voice with a focus from three different aspects. In these difficult times, ASLP also wanted to pay tribute to all healthcare professionals, other professionals and individuals who are doing their utmost to continue serving the community, while at the same time giving a positive message to the public.
This song was home recorded and performed by Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs), some of whom continue to render services in our hospitals and residential homes. ASLP is also issuing a weekly newsletter with tips, support and guidelines in the field of speech-language pathology. This evening's webinar will be the first amongst a series ASLP is planning to hold to provide support and guidelines for telepractice as well as provide useful information for the general public. Celebrate the voice!
