"I began this journey at the age of 24 and here I am at 48, I have spent half my life living in this room. "Tomorrow, Worker's Day is a day very close to my heart.  Currently there are numerous workers who are facing difficulties, or facing unemployment and trying to keep up with everything happening. I can say that our Prime Minister Robert Abela is working hard for them right now."

Cardona also thanked Speaker of the House Anglu Farrugia, and those speakers who came before him and that he will never forget all the happy moments he has experienced in Parliament.
