The Nationalist Party said on Wednesday it had never been offered money in return for undermining a candidate's chances at the European Parliament elections.
It was referring to testimony given earlier in the day, during a sitting of the public inquiry into the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Middleman Melvin Theuma said 17 Black owner Yorgen Fenech had told him that he had offered money to the PN not to elect David Casa.
In a statement, the PN said it had never been approached with an offer, let alone money, to undermine the candidature of any of its members in the MEP election, or in any other election.
