The Labour Party has decided to publish former deputy leader Chris Cardona's resignation letter.
Cardona was asked to resign from the post of deputy leader after his name cropped up in the compilation of evidence against Yorgen Fenech in the case of the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Prime Minister Robert Abela had initially hinted that Cardona should step down, saying the former minister would do what was necessary to protect the PL. He was, however, forced to ask Cardona to go after the latter refused to step down.
The PL had initially refused to publish the resignation letter, saying that it was an internal party affair.
But on Monday it said that a decision was taken during a meeting of the party's administration to publish the letter.
In the one-sentence letter, Cardona did not state the reason why he was resigning.
