Floriana FC were yesterday presented with the Premier League championship trophy.

The Greens were declared winners of the Malta championship on May 25 after the MFA decided to halt the championship. With the Greens occupying the top place, three points ahead of Valletta with six matches remaining, they were declared champions - their 26th in their illustrious history.

The MFA also announced that Floriana were to represent Malta in the forthcoming 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League.

The decision was a popular one among the MFA Council members with 47 out of 75 voting in favour of the motion presented to the club delegates.

Yesterday, a large number of Floriana fans turned up in St Anne Street to celebrate their team's victory.

The celebration obviously culminated with the presentation of the Bank of Valletta trophy by MFA President Bjorn Vassallo . Earlier, all the squad players received a commemorative medal.
