MPs who are trying to oust Adrian Delia are fighting against the “monster” that is trying to take over the party, David Thake said.

Thake, who was one of 17 MPs who voted against Delia, said in a Facebook video that these MPs are fighting to save the party from corrupt businesspeople who want to hijack the Maltese political system.

“This is a fight to save the party from a few people who hijacked it with the aim of destroying it. As I followed the party leader’s speech today, my reaction was that he is not a person who wants to solve the problems, he is not someone who wants the best for the party.”

“Do not be deluded, this fight is one to save the Nationalist Party from those who got involved only to drive it into a wall. We will not let anyone do this.”

He appealed to people in all structures of the PN to discern the facts and all that is being said. He also urged them to make a comparison between the facts and what Delia was saying. “Then decide and join us so that we can free this party from this monster that is trying to take over.”

Thake said there is a group of businessmen who are trying to take over the political system.

“They have already managed with the Labour party. Our fight is to keep the same from happening with the PN.”
